This is the lens I reach for when I want clean compression and separation — it flatters faces, isolates subjects beautifully, and the background just melts away.
The f/1.4 look is unmistakable, and the updated GM II version is even faster with autofocus than the original, making it totally usable for gimbal or handheld work.
It’s great for interviews, close-ups, or stylised product shots — especially when paired with something like the FX6 for a super cinematic result.
Still light enough to move around with, but the image you get feels like a serious step up.
